Sunburn causes

A sunburn is a burn causes by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation to living tissue such as skin, usually from the sun’s rays. Exposure of the skin to lesser amounts of UV will often produce a suntan.

Sunburn Symptoms

  • Varying degrees of pain or itching.
  • Red and/or peeling skin, rash, tenderness.
  • Nausea and fever.
  • Warm feeling to the affected area.

Sunburn Treatment

  • There is no cure for sunburn, but the pain can be relieved by hydrating the skin by applying products containing aloe and/or vitamin E.
  • Vinegar is a good home remedy for the stinging sensation on a sunburn.
  • Using products with lidocaine can help healing and prevent damage skin.
  • Drinking fluids can aid in hydration.
  • Eating high protein foods will assist tissue repair.
  • Taking over counter medicine for pain relieve such as Tylenol, ibuprofen , or Advil.
  • Applying a clean washcloth soaked with cool milk like a cold compress, since the lactic acid will help reduce inflammation.
  • Blistered skin, avoid lotions and ointments to prevent infection
