Boils signs and symptoms
Boils are very common, but usually minor skin problems. They often happened in areas where the skin becomes chaffed and where there are hairs follicles. These include the buttocks, armpits, genitals and neck. A boil has various size from a pea size to a ping pong.

- A round or cone-shaped lump or pimple they are red, painful, tender, or throb.
- Boils has pus may be visible under skin’s surface after several days.
- The boils usually bursts open on their own after 10 to 14 days.
Boils causes
Boils are usually caused when a hair follicle or oil gland infected with staph bacteria. Boils can be very contagious. Some risk factors that make them more likely occur as following:
- Poor Hygiene.
- Overuse of Corticosteroid medicine.
- Diabetes.
- Short, Curly hair that has tendency to grow back down and touch skin.
Boils self-care, prevention and treatment
- Self-care treats boils. If this is not enough, your doctor may need to lance and drain boils and prescribe the antibiotic to treat them.
- Do not scratch, squeeze, or lance boils by yourself.
- Put a hot water bottle over a damp washcloth and place it on the boil.
- Soak in a warm tub. Using antibacterial soap. If boils is ready to burst open, take warm showers instead.
- Taking over-counter medicine for pain and swelling.
- Wash your hands after contact with boils. Keeping all your clothing and other item having contact with boil away from others people.
- One boils started to drain, please keep it clean and dry. Loosely cover the boil with a sterile gauge dressing. Make sure using first-aids tape to keep them in place, and replace dressing if it gets moist.
- Washing all your bed linens, towels, and clothing in hot water. Do not share your towel and other sports equipment with others.
- Do not wear tight fitting clothes over the boil.
